Chester
le Street Civic Choir is a friendly community choir, which has been promoting
the benefits of mixed voice singing for nearly 60 years.
The
choir do not just get personal pleasure from singing but enjoy and take pride
in entertaining the many and varied audiences within the community and at key
events.
We
are always keen to strengthen the choir and will consider suitable new members
at any time. The choir is always interested in hearing from anyone who may be
interested in joining, but especially male voices.
As a friendly group of 'nonprofessional' like-minded singers, we
consider ourselves approachable should you decide to apply for membership.
Our musical repertoire is varied, entertaining and regularly updated. The
Choir does not enter competitions but does take pride in our performances and
constantly strives to sing well. To achieve this, the choir normally rehearses
each Tuesday evening between 7.30pm and 9.30pm at Chester-Le-Street C of E
(Controlled) Primary School, Hilda Park, Chester le Street, DH2 2JT.
To join you do not have to be able to read music or
have previous experience of singing in a choir. What we are looking for is your
enjoyment of singing and eagerness to join and sing with us.
